Understanding Malocclusions and Their Risks

Correcting your smile and enhancing its aesthetic begins with malocclusion treatments. Malocclusions are bad bites that arise when your teeth are not in the proper alignment or are out of position. If you are suffering from a bad bite, it can lead to further oral health issues and will need to be corrected with an orthodontic alignment system as soon as possible.

Are you suffering from any malocclusions that need orthodontic treatments? Do you have any spacing issues with your teeth in which they may appear overcrowded or alternatively, do you have any large gaps between any of your teeth? If so, orthodontic alignments will be needed. Other common malocclusions that can occur include jawbone misalignments known as crossbites and transportation malocclusions which arise when teeth are not in the right positions.

Malocclusions commonly occur with your front teeth. These teeth are known as your incisors. If you do have an issue with your incisors, you need to visit your orthodontist to determine what treatments will be necessary. Malocclusions that can arise with your incisors include open bites, overbites, deep bites, misplaced midlines, and underbites
